BSP to hold protest statute review

HUBLI: The Bahujan Samaj Party decided to hit the streets in protest against the decision of the Centre to review the Constitution.

The state executive committee member of the party, N. Mahesh told reporters his party had planned a mass campaign against BJP's "fascist agenda". The campaign would see the distribution of pamplets and holding of rallies, he added.

As part of the programme, the BSP will first hold the rallies in Chikkodi (Belgaum) and Hubli-Dharwad. Later on the party cadre decided to take their campaign to Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, Mahesh said.

The party questioned the decision of the Union government of constituting a committee of 11 experts to review the Constitution when more than 300 intellectuals had invested their brains in formulating the Constitution
